GRAB HIRE SERVICES

While Skip hire has been the traditional route for removal of waste from most locations, Grab Hire is a much more efficient, flexible and cost effective alternative for the following reasons;

No loading into high sided skips (Grab loads material direct from stockpile)
Rock breakers (doorway digger 700mm wide)*

Delivery of aggregates (stone / sand etc) can be delivered and waste removed in 1 site visit.

No waiting for skip delivery or collections
Projects can be excavated, spoil removed and stoned or concreted up in 1 day if planned correctly.

1 grab load is equal to 3 standard skips

STEP BY STEP: HOW OUR SERVICE WORKS

Locate a suitable collection point. If unsure, please feel free to call us to discuss.
Calculate approx time required to move a full load of waste material to the collection point. (A full load is approximately 3 standard builder’s skips or 240 wheel barrows or 20 1-ton dumper loads).
If required calculate any stone/sand etc and locate a suitable location for storing. This material can be grabbed or tipped into position but bear in mind if being delivered at the same time of waste collection will need to be off loaded first before waste is loaded.

Please call us to discuss any queries with the above and book a day and time for collection/delivery of Grab Hire, Digger Hire, Dumper Hire, Mini-Digger Hire, Micro-Dumper Hire, Artic Truck Hire and Low Loader Transport Hire.

FAQ'S - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Grab Hire is a popular and cost-effective solution for waste removal, particularly for
large and bulky waste items such as construction and demolition waste, green
waste, and soil. Grab Hire offers several advantages, such as faster loading times,
greater flexibility, and access to hard-to-reach areas.

Yes, Grab hire is much more cost effective, faster & more convenient than skip hire. A standard 6cyd skip can cost from €350 to €400 to hire and you have to load it yourself. For the same price a grab truck can get the waste removed in 30 mins and
can hold 20cyd of waste so your making a big saving.

No. Grab trucks are not designed to dig. They can sometimes take the topsoil layer off a garden in winter months when the ground is soft.

An 8 wheel Grab Truck would have an 8 metre reach

Generally grab trucks can only load from the side of the truck but in some instances it is possible to load over the front but it’s not ideal as the operator would be working blind.

Loading over the back of the truck is not possible as the crane can’t reach that far.

The most common materials that grab trucks dispose of are construction waste. This includes things such as rubble, concrete, bricks, and paving slabs. However, we can also take green waste, timber, mixed skip rubbish.

Grab Lorries are 32 tonne, 8 wheeled vehicles that can carry a maximum of 16 tonnes, ideal for transporting and unloading large quantities of inert material quickly. With an 8-meter arm, the Grab Lorry Operator can retrieve material from locations with tight access without the need to manually load skips.

The maximum payload of a grab crane is around 1000kg to 1500kg.

Our Grab Lorries each hold around 16 tonnes of waste material including inert muck. How many skips are in a grab lorry? Our 8-wheeled grab lorry holds around 16 tonnes of waste material. This waste roughly equals three 6-yard skips.

The following sorts of material can be collected by a Grab lorry;

● Earth and soil removal.
● Earth and soil on site relocation.
● Concrete bricks removal.
● Topsoil and hardcore removal.
● Garden and tree waste removal.
● Non-hazardous waste removal.

12 and 15 cubic metres

Grab Lorries weigh around 16 tonnes when they’re empty, and the maximum authorised mass of these lorries is 32 tonnes, so they can carry 16 tonnes of waste. In terms of volume, this is between 12 and 15 cubic metres, depending on the type of material.

We mostly cover the Leinster area but we can also cover projects nationwide if you would like to contact us to discuss your project we would be happy to help.
